Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Degen Check, published by Braian Alejandro ("Publisher", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the Degen Check mobile application.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Degen Check mobile app. It does not apply to third-party wallets, blockchain explorers, infrastructure providers, X/Twitter, or other third-party services that may be linked to or used with the app.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, the app may process the following categories of data:
- Wallet address: when you connect a Solana wallet.
- Wallet signature interaction data: when you sign a message to verify control of a wallet.
- On-chain activity query data: wallet address, transaction count results, and query timestamps used to check recent blockchain activity.
- User-entered text: draft text you type for the in-app sharing flow.
- Local app progress data: XP totals, quest completion state, activity logs, last-opened timestamps, and cached query results.
- Technical usage data from third parties: third-party wallets, Solana RPC providers, and X/Twitter may receive technical request data such as IP address, device/network metadata, and request timestamps under their own policies.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- connect and display your wallet address;
- verify wallet control through a signature request;
- check whether your wallet has recent on-chain activity;
- save your in-app progress locally on your device;
- prefill and enable your share flow to X/Twitter; and
- maintain app functionality, security, and abuse prevention.
4. Local Storage
Degen Check currently stores most app state locally on your device using local app storage. This includes wallet-scoped profile data, quest state, share draft text, cached chain query results, and activity logs.
5. Third-Party Services
The app may interact with the following categories of third-party services:
- compatible Solana wallet apps for wallet connection and signature requests;
- Solana RPC infrastructure, including Helius when configured, and public Solana RPC endpoints when needed for chain activity checks; and
- X/Twitter when you choose to share content through the share flow.
We do not control those third-party services and are not responsible for their privacy or security practices.
6. Legal Basis and Purpose
Where applicable under law, we process data because:
- it is necessary to provide core app functionality you request;
- it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the app;
- it is necessary to comply with legal obligations; or
- you choose to provide it, such as when drafting or sharing content.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data through the app.
We may disclose information only in these limited circumstances:
- to third-party services necessary for app functionality, such as wallets, RPC providers, and X/Twitter;
- if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; or
- to protect rights, safety, security, and prevent fraud or abuse.
8. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal data from minors in violation of applicable law. If you believe a minor has provided personal data in connection with the app, contact us at braianalejandro@proton.me.
9. Data Retention
Because most data is stored locally on your device, retention is generally controlled by your continued use of the app on that device. We may retain limited records if required by law, to resolve disputes, to enforce our terms, or for security and fraud prevention.
10. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or objection regarding personal data.
Because the current app experience is primarily local-device based:
- you can disconnect your wallet within the app;
- you can delete local app data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app from your device; and
- you can avoid sharing text externally by not using the X/Twitter share flow.
To make a privacy-related request, contact braianalejandro@proton.me.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to reduce risk, but no method of transmission, local storage, or blockchain interaction is completely secure. You are responsible for using trusted wallets, safeguarding your device, and protecting your wallet credentials and seed phrases.
12. International Use
The app may involve third-party services that process data in multiple countries. By using the app, you understand that information may be processed outside your jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will apply once made available in connection with the app or distribution materials.
